Is it really that hard for people to type on their iPhone that they'd need to resort to bulking it up like this?

I've used blackberry devices for the last 3 years before picking up my first iPhone, and while I loved the physical keyboard on my blackberry I'm already just as fast, or faster when typing on the iPhone's virtual keyboard.

That keyboard would be much better if the keyboard itself is part of the back of the case and not as an addon. That would make it much thinner.
