Best iPhone 4 Speaker/Dock?

Hey guys,

Girlfriend would like a iPhone dock for Christmas, one that has a radio built in too, something like the ones on this list.

I have that fancy Ihome dock one you know the one with the plexiglass with the woofer and tweets on it.

Pros - To me its one of the best sounding night stand speaker dock under $300 bucks. Awesome chic looks for your plushed out room.

Cons - Sorry but with this one you have to go caseless with it. Speaker system only, no clock or any other frilly stuff.

I think most docks are unfortunately designed for caseless ipods/iphones. But there are some dock extenders & cables you can get so you don't need to take of your case. Here are some that I've come across fairly often that might solve your problem.

As with anything each have pros & cons, so it really comes down to what you want. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the cable extenders for docking stereos, since I like my ipod in my docking stereo, not next to it, but it might be just what you're looking for.

Ebay has tons of Cable extenders for a couple bucks up. also I just ordered this one because of the reviews and it's portable with a rechargeable battery probably get one for my daughter two you can get them for about a $100 new some have compared the sound to Bose doesn't have a radio though.

Hey there - thanks for the info. I purchased 2!

a dockStubz (which has the mini usb on the side) and the DockExtender Boost which is the only one available that works with the iPhone 4 Bumper.

GadgetBoost.com had them both which was cool. I also found 1 other option with multiple colors at iExtendIt. I think I am going to try a gray one - would match both my dock and my case.

Figured I'd resurrect this thread as I'm in the search for a good dock.

I've owned one of the original JBL On Stages (first pic below) for about 5 years now and I loved the sound quality and how powerful it got for such a small device but my iPhone is unable to charge in it and it doesn't accept dock inserts. About a week ago I received the JBL On Stage Micro iii (second pic below) as a gift which works fine for docking and using inserts, but the sound quality was just terrible and it couldn't get all that loud without distorting the audio, so I returned it.

I'm wondering if anybody is using a good speaker dock that can sync/charge the iPhone 4, accepts dock inserts (I have a case that uses them) and has good sound quality and is powerful at the same time. I'm looking at a budget of about $150-200, but if something isn't outrageously more I'd consider it.
