I am in need of an external keyboard for my MBP. Which one is the best and has the feel of a MAC, I don't want to lose the functions that my MBP keyboard has. I would like to have a full keyboard but it doesn't have to be. It will be for use in the home office, just ordered a 23" monitor and 12 south stand. Now need a keyboard.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is the best keyboard I've ever used. Some don't care for its lack of a number keypad, the lack of backlighting or the size and arrangement of keys, but it's perfect for my needs and gets 4-6 months out of a set of batteries.

Sorry I should have stated I would like to have a full keyboard if at all possible, but still don't want to lose the Mac feel and functions. I will fix in post too.

A wired keyboard will likely be what you'll need then.

The only thing missing is the number keypad. Everything else is there in the AWK.

Gotta agree that keyboard is pretty good, although I wonder do you think apple is going to include backlightning in the next refresh or would that drain the battery too much?

At the op get the wired apple keyboard as it has a number keypad and is hence more of a full keyboard like you want.

That's been asked dozens of times in various threads. It won't happen because it would shorten battery life too much.

Different (key)strokes for different folks, but I think Apple's current keyboards are all terrible.

I'd suggest taking a look at the Matias Tactile Pro. It's expensive, but I would propose that it's a much better value than the Apple keyboards. Especially recommended if you began computing in the days of mechanical keyboards.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it's not relevant when the OP already stated what he wanted. See below:

You're right about that part.

I began computing in the days before Jobs and Gates got started, and that thing looks hideous! At $150, how can you possibly think it's a better value than a current Apple keyboard at half that price!?

It's the mechanical switches for the keys. Ridiculously expensive, but once you get used to them, you can type far faster than on a normal keyboard.

The last time I was tested, I think I typed around 36 wpm with 37 errors! It wouldn't do me any good! My wife could burn it up, but it would be a waste on me. I'll stick with Typinator for now! :D
