I am looking at the keyboard protectors that layover (use while typing) for my 13" MacBook. I have found these choices. I know the clear ones you can see the Capslock key light, which is a plus. As far as brands go, I have heard the edges of the iskin have had problems staying down. Anyone tried any of these? Likes/dislikes? Any other suggestions?

I currently have one from eBay which covers the keyboard as well as the palm rest. I've also had the iSkin and I personally love the one from eBay. Cheaper and covers more area!

So you have any link phungy? Do you guys know where is the cheapest place to buy the iskin?

Although this is totally irrelevant to the keyboard aspect, I plan on getting this skin from Best Skins Ever. I currently have a Total Body skin for my iPod and I love it! It is scratch resistant and it just stays on there very well.

As for the keyboard, I'll probably get one from one of the links you posted.

I have the keyboard cover from Sanwa. After using it for a few days, I found that the shape changed and it no longer fits the area where the keys dfgrtcv
are located. It is probably due to the heat/hot air from within the laptop.
Does the iSkin has this problem?

I'm not really sure what International Standard ISO is supposed to be, but the iSkin ProTouch isn't compatible with Danish MBPs, is it? The keyboard layout is different, so it doesn't look like it would fit.

How much does the iSkin hinder the airflow?

I thought the iSkin was good for international keyboards too. I'm pretty sure it will work.

I highly recommend the iSkin, it is non-restrictive and actually adds a bit of texture when typing. I really enjoy it. As for airflow it does not have any ventilation gaps or holes in it at all. Just one solid piece of latex, I often refer to it as my 'keyboard condom' ;).

EDIT: I've had my iSkin on my iBook for nearly 2 years and it is still the same shape as the day I got it. I have washed it multiple times too.

Looking at the images on their press site, it looks like some keys – enter and \ specifically – are combined even on a US-keyboard. On Danish layouts left-shift is split in two as well. How does this shared button work? Do you notice it when typing?

(Why they expect their customers to hunt through their press site is a mystery).

Isn't that a problem given the MBP's tendency to, well, get quite hot on occasion?

iSkin does not fit Japanese keyboard because it has more keys and the keys are arranged differently. I asked them if they are going to make the Japanese version but there is no reply. In any case, does it melt/change shape due to the heat from the MBP?

Another question.

Wouldn't closing the lid with the iSkin installed (potentially) leave dents in the LCD screen? Do you have to remove the iSkin every time you transport your Mac?

Ok, now this is something that bugs me about the iSkin. It doesn't dent the screen, but it will get the screen dirty with the crap that collects on the iSkin. I remove the iSkin most of the time and place it on top of the computer before placing in my computer sleeve. Its slightly annoying.

As for the airflow comment, I don't have any real commentary on overheating of MBP. Though I wish I had one to try it out on.

Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of the keyboard protector? You are actually protecting the screen from your keyboard. If you do not have something in between your keys and the screen you will get maks on your screen... eventually permanent.

OK Stupid question alert.
I have a 17". Aren't the keyboards the same size? and therefore the above eBay would work with my 17? (it's listed for only the 13 and 15.)

No the primary purpose of the keyboard protector is to protect the keyboard from liquid spills. Not the screen. The marks I don't see as becoming permanent they wipe off very easily.

All the keyboards are the same size (referring to 17" question). But the international keyboard questions I don't know.
