Right. Leatherette != leather.

Leatherette is a form of artificial leather, usually made by covering a fabric base with plastic. The fabric can be made of a natural or a synthetic fibre which is then covered with a soft PVC layer.

Try a Piel Frama. I have just ordered my 8th case from them and none have been a disappointment. Right now they are 20% off at cases.com

I like Sena. IMO the best out there for leather.

I second Sena, not only great quality cases, but great customer service - I've had many of their cases but I had one iPhone case where the stitching came loose. Sent them a photo and the immediately sent me a replacement.

Does the Apple SmartCase count? It's leather, correct?

I bought one because there were no other decent options at the time here in Japan, and I like it a whole lot more than I thought I would.

Yes, it's expensive. But it really fits the iPad well. I couldn't be happier with it.
