so my mom has a 2015 macbook pro retina with a core i7 and 16 gigs of ram its stuck on os high siera whats the best os i can install on her mac that has a similar look and feel to her current mac os windows isnt an option as shes not familiar with the ui

you can install several flavors of linux like ubuntu mint and stuff but you can also open core legacy patcher your moms mpb and install new versions of macOS which she might like and would make it so it is not linux... run on posts without punctuation live forever !!!!

I ran Linux distros for over 20 years before coming to Mac. Regardless of which Linux distribution you choose there are lots of tutorials online that will teach you how to make the UI look like a Mac. I think it’s easier to theme Gnome than it is to theme KDE. Not sure about Cinnamon (Mint Linux) but you could always check.
