My household is now officially all Mac (though I do have Parallels, but I'm using that less and less). I really love the software that comes with a Mac, and I use Adobe software. But, I'm wondering what more experienced Mac users favorite programs are - whether they're free or not.

I realize that's a pretty broad question, but I'd really like to get some great app's for my computer.

Thanks!

Congrats on the transition. Mine is almost there also.

Pretty much every day I'll use:

Built-in: Terminal, Safari, iTunes, iCal, Mail, Address Book, XCode + friends
Bought: 1Password, OmniGraffle Pro, Keynote, Little Snitch
Free: MacVim, VNCViewer (only the viewer is free)
Widgets: iStat

I also like and use often, but not daily:

Built-in: iPhoto, DVD Player
Bought: Pixelmator, Leap, AppZapper, Sound Studio, Quicktime Pro
Free: Inkscape (it's not very mac-like, but very powerful), VLC, MacTheRipper, Handbrake

Of these, I'd highly recommend: 1Password, OmniGraffle (Pro), Keynote, and MacVim. All four do their respect jobs elegantly and well, but MacVim is definitely only for vi(m) enthusiasts who are also mac users. Leap may be moving up in my list also.
