Best Macbook for College?

Hey everyone, I begin school in September, and I was wondering, which macbook would be best, the Air or Macbook Pro Retina Display?

I won't be doing any hardcore things on it, just typing up documents, using powerpoint, and surfing the web. As for portability, it doesn't really matter to me, since I wouldn't mind carrying it around.

Is battery life an important criteria for you? If so, the Air will presumably be the best even after the Pro with Retina is updated sometime this fall.
