Hi everyone! :)

I was in the middle of setting up Plex again for on-the-fly video viewing on my iPad with my Mac and external hard drive acting as the server end. Then I started wondering if Plex is the "best" way of doing this or if I should perhaps invest some time in looking at alternatives, such as Infuse 5, which I bought a long time ago but essentially never used. I also love the VLC player, so perhaps VLC is the best way to go, or maybe something new altogether?

When I say "best", it's very relative, of course, so in my case I'm also thinking of my Mac ramping up to where it gets really hot.

If I remember correctly, I noticed in past configurations that some streaming apps cause system resources to be used in a way that heated my Mac way up, when others didn't.

Thanks very much for your answers! I appreciate your help!
