Best Mail App for Filters

I'm a college student that gets a ton of emails from various clubs, student activities, etc. It's a highly abused form of communication from my college, and I only ever seem to be able to "filter messages like these into trash" within Gmail when I'm on my Mac (the college email runs off Gmail). Every day there seems to be a new set of emails for something or another, and I'd really love to be able to filter these new email addresses to my trash as well when I'm on my iPhone so that I mostly only get emails from either my professors or the college administration. I wish I didn't have to even deal with my college email, but it's how my professors send out communications, cancelations, and so-on. Hopefully my problem makes sense. I'm looking for an Email app on my phone that has this sort of functionality. Thanks!
