Speed Downloader is not mavericks compatible.

i use folx 3 start downloads automatically working great on mavericks

I use Progressive Downloader. It works pretty well.

FWIW I'm still using SpeedDownload 5 on Mavericks with few problems. Seems to be a bit of inactivity on Yazsoft's site, so not sure of its future, but in the meantime maybe their demo would work for you.
