Thinking about getting something newer and hopefully faster than my 2013 rMBP 13 (2.8GHZ). It's a good machine, but it's rather slow for Lightroom and the battery life is beginning to be an issue.

I have a requirement of Mojave support since I do not plan to upgrade Lightroom for now (and I have other non-upgradeable 32-bit applications as well). If not for that, the 2019 rMBP 16 that I have from work would be a decent choice.

Options seems to be:
1) 2015 rMBP 15. I like the design but 4 cores feels a bit dated and for all its headaches, I would appreciate having native USB-C support. Also limited to 16GB of memory which between Lightroom, VMware and compilation is a bit of a nuisance.
2) 2019 rMBP 15. Expensive and rolling the dice on the keyboard. I guess one can still get AppleCare, so keyboard should be covered for 3 years. Also requires a religious backup strategy because the storage is soldered in. A bit concerned regarding stability as my rMBP 16 has not been the most stable. Not sure whether this is mainly a Catalina thing, or related to BridgeOS, but occasionally it just fails to wake from sleep and I have to hard reboot it.
3) 2019 rMBP 13 4 TB. Same issues with keyboard, storage and stability as above. Not sure if there's a consensus on whether the 13 or 15 has a more reliable keyboard. 16GB limit is annoying.

Any other thoughts or ideas? I know I can't stay on Mojave forever, but I'm hopeful that in 2.5-3 years Apple will have come up with a decent upgrade and I will have found a suitable replacement for Lightroom 6. That or it will be time to look elsewhere for good.
