With the potential shortages of electronic components, I am worried the price of RAM is going to skyrocket, and I was hoping to upgrade my 2011 MBP from 4GB to 8GB.

I did some searching, but was hoping someone could tell me what the best deal is for quality memory at this moment? Not being lazy, just don't want to take any chances on low quality or under-performing memory. Thanks!

Does anyone know the timing and CAS latency of the original 2011 MBP chips? I see there are different options, want to make sure I don't give up any performance. Thanks!

edit: Just noticed that G.Skill as a company recommended to use this memory for macbooks: (somewhere in the reviews of the G.Skill memory linked above)

Timing/CAS is a lot better.

That RAM will not work in the new 2011 MacBook Pros, they require at least PC3 10600 or PC3 10666 which are 1333MHz, as opposed to the PC3 8500 in the link.
