I have a 2G iPod Touch and I am a big follower of the Smule applications such as Ocarina. However, I am looking for an external mic for the 2G non-jailbroken Touch that will enable me to use these applications. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Any iPhone compatible microphone will work. I use a Shure iPhone music phone adapter. It works perfectly and fits great with my SE210s.

Where is this ocarina app everyone is talking about? I looked in the app store and I don't see it.

Ocarina

The ocarina app will not work on the ipod touch as it was not made compatible with the ipods only iphones. I know because i mistakenly bought the app and found out it will not load onto the touch, unless you jailbreak. I contacted the developer of Ocarina to ask if it would be made compatible with the touch and they are reluctant too. It seems its more for asthetic reasons because they seem to think it would be silly and awkward use an external mic. So i wont hold my breath. I was asked if i would be willing to test the app if it were to ever be released for the touch and of course i said yes.

I currently use a no name brand headphone/mic combo i got off ebay for 9.00 which are actually a knock off of the Apple ones and works quite well for the price. I use them for recording with one of my recording apps.
