I would like to buy an external monitor preferably with USB & audio outputs but I can't find any monitors with Mini DisplayPort in reasonable price range. For this reason I will probably buy a display with HDMI, DVI or (standard) DisplayPort + an adapter.

Which adapter will work best? (1920x1080 but might be higher)

I'd prefer to connect the monitor + its (USB & audio) outputs via single cable. Is it possible?

Thanks for any help

ASUS makes a lot of DisplayPort monitors. It is the cable that you need to worry about, not the monitor. Amazon sells a mini-DP to DP cable for $14.

Thanks for the reply, does DP support also USB & audio connection or will I need to connect additional cables to the MBP?

DVI, for example, only supports image. However, HDMI supports both image and audio; and as far as I know, the respective MiniDisplayPort cables support the features of what they are outputting to, including audio.
