Hi all,
we've got a G5 with a new TB hard drive and TB external.
We'd love to 'mirror' to the external but have never done it before.
What's the best software to mirror to an external non-RAID drive? (Single terabyte hard drive on G5 Tiger, and single terabyte external drive).
What hints and tips can you give me on how to use it?
Also, we're buying a new MacPro soon. Does my wife (a graphic designer) have to reinstall all her mac and Adobe and Quark and other software from scratch because of software validation, username and ID codes etc... or can she just use her 'mirror' external drive to reinstall the basic settings? (Keeping in mind her G5 is in Tiger and the new machine will be in 10.5). Is there a way to do this with applications? Because I'll be inheriting her G5 and wiping it and putting my own software on it manually *but SHE's the designer with far more software and we want her productive the same day that she gets the macpro. Any hints?
