I bought a 22" external monitor to connect to my 2010 MacBook Pro. The MBPro has a mini-display port and the monitor comes with HDMI, VGA, and DVI ports. Before I buy an adapter, which is the best and most compatible port to use with the MacBook Pro?

Occasionally I hear about handshake and overscan issues with HDMI connections and odd video glitches with DVI. VGA seems to most compatible but is also the oldest and most low-res connection.

Which one should I choose?
