anyone have suggestions on the best monitor in the 23-24 inch range priced between $200-300.

the ones i have been looking at are:

Dell SP2309W
Samsung SyncMaster XL2370
Dell G2410

the sp2309w has great features and a higher resolution, but I really like the LEDs in the samsung and g2410. what do yall think?

The SyncMaster you list is an updated model of the P2370 that I have. This is a PVA panel (at least the P2370 is-the P was "Premium"). Color, contrast and sharpness are outstanding. It is the only monitor that I have ever had to turn down. The best Dell monitors are the UltraSharp series. These are their IPS panels. IPS is #1 for color, PVA is #2 and TN is #3.

I am picking the SP2309W over the G2410. The SP2309W has a better rating on CNET than the G2410.
The SP2309W will also be on sale friday for $219 on the Dell website. :D

If you would consider a 22" monitor with 1680X1050 resolution, then hands down the Dell 2209WA. I could never go back to a TN paneled display after having the IPS in my 2209WA.

Edit: Didn't know the SP2309W had 2,048x1,152 resolution. I'd rather have the higher res myself, but can't stand 16:9 monitors.

how does the picture of the sp2309w compare to an led though?

i can see the difference in my mbp and 24" imac.
