best monitor for macbook with mini displayport connection?

I have the 13 inch macbook with mini displayport connection and want to get a 24 or 26 inch monitor. what is the best setup besides the apple display. i like samsung products but am any advice will help. also, if you suggest a monitor that doesn't have mini displayport will you say what kinds of cables to get? thanks, appreciate any help.

You'll need an Apple MiniDisplay port to DVI or Minidisplay Port to VGA adapter, depending on your chosen monitor.

Check out viewsonic or dell monitors, they are good. They all pretty much come with DVI and VGA connections.

I would use DVI over VGA, there is no big difference unless you are using it for photo or video tasks.
