I have a Early 2006 MBP that is running Tiger and plan on upgrading to SL very soon. Right now I am trying to find a External Hard drive I can run over my wireless network so I can access my music and other files. So far the only who options that look good are the WD My Book World Edition and the Buffalo Tech Linkstation Pro. I am thinking of going with a 2 tb drive so I wont have to worry about running out of space for a while. I have a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. Each of these external hard drives are at or around $300. Is there any other options out there? This is for home use. :D

I had bought a Netgear NAS 2-disk enclosure (bring your own drives) and since it used client software on the computer, it would only run on Windows and not on my Mac. I returned it and bought a Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo (2x1Tb mirrored) and it works like a champ. I like that I can access it remotely, as well.

What are the benefits to having a dual drive over a single drive?
