I have been waiting for a new MacPro to come out as i am still working on my G5, but I have the old 20" Apple Display which is not cutting it anymore. Apple is not looking good on getting new displays out anytime soon (I hope I am wrong). I am looking for the best display for using Final Cut Pro. There are so many to choose from but I want a display that works very well with Final Cut Pro.

Thanks for any advice.

computer monitors don't matter in video production... you can't properly view quality/color in the FCP canvas no matter how hard you try. just get some decent dells or whatever is on sale at the time.

I second that. Get something with good contrast ratio, and good frame rate if your doing video. Its will make monitor more usable. But most of them nowadays do just fine, you can pick up a descent view sonic for about 230 for 22".

Short of having a broadcast monitor get 2 PC monitors. Set one for the viewing monitor. Handy. I have a 27" iMac and an old 17" display as a second monitor.

Every new Mac Pro graphics card features two display ports for maximum workspace flexibility. A Mini DisplayPort connects the new 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display with ease. A dual-link DVI port connects a 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display or any other DVI display.

Looks like one will want to have a display port, or you'll need an adapter.
