good evening all,

So I have been requested to perform a background d check on myself and send the overall results and I am here wondering what the best online service is.

The person who is requesting this suggested MyLife.com but I remember reading someone that that service just gathers public information records from all over the web and creates a neat pdf file for you without really digging deep.

Though this isn’t for a job or an application of sorts (it’s really for some to just keep on file) I am wanting it to be a thorough and just background check. They didn’t specify they needed court documents or credit scores and all that stuff but honestly the more the merrier in wanting to be transparent.

Thanks everyone!

I have no personal experience with online services but my intuition says they’re merely aggregating public records with limited value as a meaningful background report. My gut also says the bg service offered is merely a hook to sell other services.

I jealously guard my personal information and won’t hand it over to an online service or to anyone in a potential dating relationship.

Same here. Why would anyone share information about themselves that could assist fraud online?

I've done some work with a company (software dev) that provides several different HR services (things like psychometric assessments for ID-ing candidates, situational judgment tests, etc.) and for background checks, they use this company:

https://www.ebiinc.com

Not sure if it's available as an end user service or just through resellers.
