I am looking for what everyone here deems the best Onyx "like" utility for repairing permissions, running scripts, overall system maintenance... I've looked in the App Store to no avail. Thanks!

I was simply wondering if the "experts" here thought something was better than Onyx... That's all. No harm, no foul...
they're both great apps.
i've used onyx for so long, it seems like it should be part of the OS.
but, whatever gets the job done...
Not actually sure whether its the same sort of application (because i removed onyx when i saw it wasn't working and after appfresh finished), but deeper gives you alot of options and its still working now that i upgraded to lion.
You'd think these devs would publish an updated version. Sure they are doing this on their own time, but it's not like Lion was just released to the devs. They've had months to nail something out.
It does an awesome job at cleaning out crap in an automated manner.
The dude writing it just takes his time with OS releases. I remember getting it for SL months after it's release.

have used onyx for YEARS, without problem. it's a great tool, i use it monthly.
also good for customizing some things on your mac.
whatever works (or, i guess, "doesn't).
