I have a 4s from verizon and i am wondering what my best option and cheapest option would be for using this phone in the Bahamas? Should i just use Skype for phone calls and wifi for data ? or should i use the Verizon international package and just have them pro-rate it, but that seems expensive..

When I went down to the Bahamas back in August, I went over to a drug store and bought a BTC SIM card from the guy there for $30 and then had to put $10 or so for airtime on it. They have a $10 for 250MB/7 days data plan that i subscribed to as well. However, you can go to a BTC store on the islands and they will most likely give you a SIM card for free as long as you put some credit on the account.

If I remember correctly, it was a 282 area code. This means that people can call that number from the US with no international charges.

FWIW, they had (fake) 4G, HSPA+.
