A few months ago I was looking for the cheapest option to purchase a MacBook Pro in Germany or elsewhere in Europe. The Mac Index had some interesting comparisons, but it wasn't clear if US English keyboards were available in each country. Flying to the US could very well be cost effective if timed well.

In Germany 3rd party resellers sell significantly below the RRP/Apple's prices, this is only for German keyboards though. A couple of retailers offer US keyboards but the cost of the keyboard change results in the price being almost the RRP. I ended up buying the 16-inch MacBook Pro from apple.com (>5% discount with the Apple Employee Purchase Programme through my employer).

Here is a comparison table for the 15-inch MacBook Pro from last year:

PriceCountryKeyboardStore
2300€USUSReseller
2500€USUSApple
2700€DEDEReseller
3000€DEUSApple (discount)
3100€DEUSReseller (415,87€ for keyboard change)
3200€DEUSApple
