As neither the iPhone 13 pro max nor the Apple Watch series 7 come with a “charging brick”/adapter, whatever you call it, in the box, I was wondering what charging adapter is required/recommended for fast charging.
Both devices come with a fast charge compatible cable, but how many watts adapter do I need to plug in the wall?
I remember it was 20w adapter for the iPhone 12 Pro Max last year, but 20w enough for this year’s iPhone? And I have no clue when it comes to the watch 7.
All help is appreciated. And I’m talking about original Apple chargers…

Thank you very much 😊
I already have one 20w from last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max, so then I just need one more for the watch. That makes it more affordable this year.
Just had to ask in advance, in case they had changed something with the iPhone 13 PM, so that an even bigger adapter was needed 😎

Well technically the 13PM can support up to 27Watt charging so a 30W charger would get you juiced up quicker, but the apple 30W charger is huge. id just stay at the 20W.

I agree with @Sullivan0930, the Apple 20W USB-C is a good general purpose adaptor for pretty much any Apple device other than one of the laptops (only because you'd want the higher output). The Anker adaptor provides max 20W per port as well, slightly less expensive (per port) but also quite a bit larger (in fact it looks similar in size to Apple's 30W).

Anker's PowerPort III Nano is 20W (single port), and is 50% smaller (and also less expensive) than Apple's 20W brick.

Yes, lots of choices, in fact there seem to be (at least) three Anker 20W USB-C chargers listed on Amazon, a couple of them are slightly less expensive than the Apple charger:

You will something that supports 9V/3A for 27W, which is fastest possible charge on a 13 Pro Max. Either the official Apple 30W charger, or this nice Anker 30W charger if you want something that’s close to the same small size of the Apple 5W charger, and also much cheaper than the official Apple 30W charger. All of the other Anker chargers people posted are 20W, which is good enough but they aren’t the fastest.

I thought the fastest the 13 pro max can do is 20W?

I have the Anker 20W (cubes) which work great. I also have a Spigen Dual USB-PD charger that supports 40W total (up to 30W if just charging one device). It is also very small and it works great when I have to charge my iPad and iPhone at the same time. My wife has the OtterBox 50W charger (can support 30+20); however, it is much larger than the Spigen.

So I need a faster charger right?
Not necessarily. Depends on what you’re using now. If you’re using the old 5W charger and are looking to get something faster then sure the 30W would be nice. But if you already have the 20W charger, then you probably don’t need to get the 30W unless you feel you must have the fastest charge possible.

sine I don't have a charger at all (my iPhone 13 pro max hasnt arrived yet hence why I am buying one now) it makes sense to get a 30w charger.

what cable do you use to charge your iPhone. I am after a rugged one.

I have Anker, Choetech, UGreen, and OtterBox. All are decent.
Which is the best and can you post a link?
I want the higher quality one which is tough and can take wear and tear. I charge my phone in various places such as the gym and work.
