I know a lot of you will tell me I don't need it, but with Macs becoming more and more popular and the amount of malware increasing, I like to be safe.

I currently have iAntivirus installed, but I just read a post here on MR which said that it's "bogus".

Can you please recommend the best legit free anti-virus app?

Sophos do one for free and I think I can get some sort of deal on Kaspersky through my bank, though I'm unsure if that's Windows-only.

Thanks in advance :)

No viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any, since it was released 10 years ago. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some basic education, common sense and care in what software you install:
If you insist on running antivirus, which is unnecessary to protect your Mac, ClamXav is a good one. Sophos can actually increase your Mac's vulnerability, so it's not recommended. Read the link above for more details.
