So, have CarPlay in my truck but in my Audi I just have a Pioneer media deck with a fully integrated bluetooth setup. CarPlay rocks and I'm sure down the road we will see how the watch and Siri working together might make it an even better experience but I'm actually curious about the bluetooth integration more in the Audi.
That said, have recently with upgrades in iOS 8.3 and Siri have been able to get more "near" a Carplay experience just with "Hey Siri" and using the home button itself. However, the sensitivity with windows down, music on, etc. makes the iPhone mic "hard to pickup" sometimes anyways.
Here is where the watch comes in. Hey Siri works EXCELLENT. So, I'm wondering what the best "pairing" to the bluetooth setup in the car will be. Traditionally, my phone is just paired to the head unit and everything works nicely. This morning, I thought I would try something.
Command watch through "Hey Siri" to play an album from the phone. Phone was already in the car and paired to the deck itself. However, when i did command Siri to play the album, it defaulted to the iPhone itself and DIDN'T bluetooth stream it.
So, whats the best pairing or how could we achieve what I was after with the watch in a bluetooth audio/car setting where the phone acts as the music cache and the watch simply sends the command to bluetooth stream through the phone to the heading itself (without having to switch audio source on the phone).
Anyone have any ideas?
