Best PAYG sim offer for iPhone 4

Due to an unexpected windfall I could now purchase an iPhone from Apple but was wondering if this is the best thing to do.

I was looking at the Tesco deal of £429 for the 32gb and £20pm for 12 months.

Is there any SIM deals around that would make it worth while spending more on the phone and less on the PAYG sim?
