I live in a large city (Chicago) and I can easily get to an Apple store or any of a number of AT&T stores. Where is the best to go to get an iPhone, at&t or apple store (i.e., which has shorter lines, etc.)?

I would go to the place that has shorter lines first and see if they have one that you want in stock. I would assume AT&T would have shorter lines than the Apple store, but I would also assume that Apple would have more in stock than AT&T.
My assumptions could be way off, but they seem to be generally correct.
