I wold love to be able to afford to buy a new one - but untill I know a definitive on wether or not the single CPU quad's can be upgraded later, I'm trying to weigh my options and look at the last gen MP's. What are the best places to check (besides eBay) for good used/refurb/overstock MP's. Can I get any in the Apple stores?

I am pretty sure Amazon is selling them at a discount right now. Also you can check the refurb store at Apple.com Good Luck

it's funny, the best deal you can get is on one of the new MP's with only one processor (even student discount only saves you 50 bucks with that)

man...i REALLY hope you can upgrade later :)

the new MP with only One CPU only costs you 2,200 and I'm having a hard time finding a deal that's better than that (albeit that still has two CPU's)

The single quad costs $2149 with an EDU discount on the US site.

What's up with Apple still trying to sell the 2.66 refurbs at $2199?
