Trying to find a website that has BTO (specifically the "ultimate") configurations, but not finding much.

I'd prefer to avoid MacMall, as I've had some bad experiences with them in the past.

I'm looking to price educational discount + tax vs no tax. ;)

Thanks!!

Educational discount is only 50 dollars at apple store. Amazon is also good place to start. No TAX!

Amazon has them but as far as I can see no way to upgrade RAM or CPU.

Apple has the edu discount but then I pay tax, which ads up to more than the discount.

The seller there is not Amazon. It's onSale, which is owned by MacMall. So you won't be dealing with Amazon customer service, return policy, etc.

I ordered my 11" base model from MacMall simply because Amazon didn't have them in stock at the time. I got mine just a few days after the release. $979 free overnight shipping and no tax! Hard to beat... well my company account w/ Apple would have let me get it for $939, but you have to add tax.. grr.
