I need to replace a battery, but the batteries straight from Apple are quite expensive ($135+tax). Is there a better place to purchase the battery get a slight price cut? It seems like ifixit is a decent place to get a battery, (~$100+) but maybe there is a better place?

non-apple batteries from sources like ebay, do not last as long or perform as well as their apple equivalents. Paying the extra amount for the apple version is in turn worth it.

You can get apple branded batteries from eBay for a lot less that $100. Also worth noting, is using googles "shopping" function and sorting your results to cheapest.
