best place to get a old mbp battery?

If you want an original quality one, then definitely Apple Store or third-party Apple dealer. However, if you want a good deal, here's an option: $45 at Buy.com. I wouldn't recommend one quite so cheap except that my dad got one and has been happy with it.

The ones on ebay or 3rd party dealers might be worth gambling on. Everyone poorly rates Apple batteries anyways, and I have had an official Apple battery fail on me after 2 years of use. I went Apple again, but my friend bought a cheap one on ebay (~$70) and it's been running fine since.

I get mine on ebay... last 200 cycles before it starts loosing power quickly. For 35 bucks its ok.
