Not having luck selling my 16GB iPad 3G+WiFi. Any suggestions?

Gazelle will only give me $340.
eBay Instant Sale will give me $375.
Craigslist is usually good to me but nothing but tattoo artists trying to scam me.

Problem is I am also trying to get rid of the accessories.
I have the iPad dock, Apple iPad case and a DODOcase.

I'm looking to sell the whole lot for $500. Am I asking too much?

IMO yes

Sorry not much else to say

Only going to go down from here

I would give Amazon a try. I sold my 32GB 3G for $550 a few days ago. This is the fifth or sixth thing I've sold on Amazon, and it still surprises me how quickly you can actually sell stuff on there. Note that they do take an 8% commission (well below eBay's 20%), but the customer does pay for shipping.

Make sure to note the accessories you will include at the beginning of your description. This is where people look when the see the list of hundreds of iPads to choose from.

Thanks for the tip. Listed it on Amazon. Hopefully it sells.

I QUIT selling anything on ebay, the 20% is INSANE!! +paypal!! No way.

Amazon
craiglist
forums

I would stick to amazon, and craiglist. :D

Generally better to sell accessories separately or at least offer to split them out. Never assume a buyer has the same taste in stuff as you do.

When I bought mine via craigslist, I told buyer to keep the otterbox defender and negotiated a price sans the additional case. Why would I pay even $0.01 extra for a case I have no desire to own?

Wait it out.

I would give it some time. With apple and all retailers trying to get rid of iPad 1 stock, it is really driving the used Ipad market down(350 for a refurb on apple.com?!). I bet if you wait it out, once all the new First gen iPads are gone the resale market will go back up on the first gens.

How are you coming up with 20% for ebay? That's what Amazon takes on textbooks I resell; ebay auctions have always been about 9%, plus 3% for paypay.

When do the paypal fees apply? I use paypal all of the time (use the paypal debit card to buy things) and I never see the fees show up.

Sell the accessories separately. If someone is not interested in the accessories they're not going to pay extra for them.

I sell on ebay. When are the fees taken? Is it when you transfer to a bank account? Because I never do that.

Paypal takes its fee as soon as the funds are sent to you. You never even get the full amount that is paid to you, only the amount leftover after they take their cut. Perhaps you should take a closer look at your Paypal account transaction page; it's all right there.

If you're talking about ebay, I think they bill you monthly for whatever activity you did that month.

Oh, yes I see the fees now. I never noticed them before because I only sell Apple gadgets on ebay and just use the card to buy the new thing.
