Best Place To Store Videos?

Hi, I'm new mac user. I have some home movies on my PC that I'd like to transfer to my new iMac. Where is the best place to store them? iPhoto, iDvd or the movies folder from within my home folder in finder? or somewhere else? Not sure where to put them.
I'm running Lion.
Thanks for any help.
