Hey everyone, long time reader first time poster here. I successfully ordered two 6's at 2:15 AM CST, but am still in need of a 64GB 6 Plus. My two options for release day are:

1. Go to Apple Store in Madison, WI (population of approx. 250,000) at 3 AM as I did last year. Last year I was number 18 in line arriving at 3 AM.

2. Go to the AT&T store in a smaller city (population of approx. 60,000) at 3 AM.

Either option works fine for me, but which would have the highest likelihood of me getting the 6 plus in your opinion? Thanks in advance!

If you were 18th in line, you probably didn't need to line up at 3AM. I would just do what worked last time.

Thanks for the replies. I'd assume that Apple will get more phones but there will be far more people.

My plan of attack is to hang out on my couch all day in my bathrobe with a beer cracked and wait for the FedEx guy.

The carriers are bound to have far fewer pluses than the apple store based on the way preorder dates are shaping up. As in maybe even zero. Go to apple.

Based on past releases Apple will be your best option. ATT stores have always been iffy at best on launch day.

Haha I wish I had that luxury! I ordered the 6 plus through AT&T and the expected delivery date was October 10th so I cancelled it.

If the plus is gold 5s type stock at apple stores, 3 might be late. Were you able to get a gold 5s at 18?

...to bring your phone right? Otherwise this sounds like the start of a video I wouldn't want to watch.

Like another poster said, I expect the Plus to be very similar to the Gold 5S. If I were you, I would consider lining up much earlier. I would go by the store around closing time on the 18th and see how things look and then either line up then or maybe come back at 12am or so. Keep in mind that it's not just wether or not they will have enough stock but will they have the color/capacity/carrier you need?

indeed and got a masters in madtown

Awesome! I'm doing my undergrad at UW-Madison. Great city and school!

Yeah very true. The only difference this time is that there were preorders on both the 6 and 6 plus but there is a much higher demand for these phones than there was for the 5s. I think I'll probably do as you said with scoping it out around store close then determining what I want to do.

Last year I went around 11 and there were maybe 10 people then at 3 there were 17 ahead of me.
