So with the weather getting nicer I imagine I am going to be spending more and more time outside and would really like to find a good speaker/dock option so that I can take my music with me.

Does anybody have some recommendations for a good portable iPod speaker set up?

I've seen some of the reviews for the Bose soundock portable, discontinued apple hifi, etc. but would like to hear what some other users have to say.

I liked the Hi-Fi over the sound dock...but either one would be a good option. How portable does it have to be?

Yeah, I took a look at the Hi-Fi last year and it seemed like a better option for listening outside as it seemed a bit more powerful and able to project further.

I am only thinking semi-portable...like maybe throw it in my car when I'm heading out to the park for a volleyball game or something...I'm actually trying to stay away from the smaller packages as they don't appear to be able to really project good sound in an open environment. Many of the portables out there seem more focused on a small form factor for inside use....
