hello all,

I just ordered a new MacBook Pro 13! Super excited! And now I descend into the confusion of usb c...

So I understand that power comes in through usb c to charge the laptop. Is there a recommended usb c hub that can charge the laptop while allowing for 7-10 usb 3 powered ports?

Searching for this is super confusing on amazon...

Thanks for your suggestions!

You could get two USB C hubs with 3-4 USB 3.0 ports each that support "Power Delivery" AKA "PD."
You plug in power into one of the hubs and that passes power through to the laptop.

This item has 4 USB ports and you can plug in power into one of them to power everything.

Regrettably, with such a setup only 2 of the USB 3.0 ports would be "powered." For that many powered USB ports you still need something more serious that you need to plug into a wall.

You probably don't want this (6-port):

Its description states that there's a max of 900mA, otherwise it could be unstable.

Hi Mate,

I spent ages looking into this before i bought my laptop. In the end (As annoying as it is) the best one is the most expensive one which is the caldigit ts3 plus. There are other cheaper options but if you look into it, some have less ports, less power , no thunderbolt, no 4k support over usbc etc.

I would highly suggest this dock.
