I'd like to gather some feedback on "best practices" for running Windows on a Mac. Specifically a MBP w/ 4GB RAM.
I'm thinking that I will create a bootcamp setup (20-30 GB) for the few times I want full Windows, but will also be able to virtualize it in VMWare. What is the best performing Windows OS on a Mac? I could have sworn I read a semi-offical recommendation from VMWare at some point, but for the life of me can not find it now. I'm leaning towards Vista 64-bit.
Any thoughts/suggestions as for setting up a shared drive between the OSes? I imagine this would be pretty easy to do when using virutalization, but a bit harder in Bootcamp, unless it can access the Mac partition too. I'm contemplating another partition for /Users anyways, maybe I can use the same directory in both OSes?
Anyways, just wanting to get some feedback on the best possible setup to take advantage of the best of both worlds from folks who have been there before.
TIA!
