Best (Preferably Free) Screen Audio and Video Recorder

i'm looking for an on-screen recorder where i can select the window or a custom size on the screen and record the video and also the audio playing..

anyone have any suggestions?

preferably free but i'll take any suggestions..

Copernicus is the only free one I can think of. But it's not very stable.
