I am looking for the best program for .rar files and unzipping them.

I use to use WinRAR on Windows and it was by far the best! Never an issue.

I need a program that supports PASSWORD protected .rar files also.

I am currently using RAR Expander and Stuffit Expander.

Stuffit seems to always give me errors or crashes when the .rar is over 10 files and i am not sure if Stuffit works with passwords but every-time i enter one it says its invalid...and RAR Expander seems a bit slow to me.. ( i am on a i7 iMac )

I was curious what other good programs are out there? or are these the best at the moment?

I "unRAR" a lot of 1080p movies ( around 10-20gb each ) so sometimes there are like 60 files that need to unRAR

UnRarX and The Unarchiver.

These are the two I use as well. The Unarchiver for the majority of archive files (not just .rar) and UnRarX for multipart .rar archives that confuse The Unarchiver. I've had archives with 25+ files that worked fine in UnRarX, but I've never had any with passwords so I don't know how well it works with them.

I too am an old Windows user who loved using winrar and have struggled to find a macintosh replacement, however take a look at BetterZip. You can view compressed files(including rar) without decompressing, you can then drag and drop individual files from the compression. IMO the closest you'll get to winrar, from memory it costs US$19.95.
cheers

I can confirm that UnRarX supports passworded RAR files.
I've downloaded plenty of RARs with passwords and the app can extract it without a hitch.
