So I've used LAME on my PC for a while through EAC, but that's not available on a Mac. I'm wondering what the best way to use LAME is? I've heard of iTunes-LAME and LAMEbrain. Are they both the same, different or are there better programs? I still use iTunes to play and organize my music cause I use an iPod, but like to use LAME to rip my cds. Any suggestions, thoughts, etc?

Yes it is available for the Mac. Lame is a free open source program

Look here:
http://lame.sourceforge.net/download.php

That said. iTune's build in MP3 encoder, I think, is better than Lame. I've compared them A/B. Apple has licensed the Franhaurer

i have also done A/B comparisons and enjoy v0 LAME much more. I know Apple has licensed the Franhofer encoder, but it doesn't actually use it, it's a variant. That said, I still enjoy LAME more.
