What is the best deal between these -factoring in heat and processing power

mbp 17 inch i7 glossy 4gb ram, all standard parts $2119.00

or

mbp 17 inch i5 2.53 glossy 4gb ram, all standard parts $1949.00

or

mbp 15 inch i5 2.4 standard screen, 4gb ram, 256 SSD $2169

mbp 15 inch i5 2.4 standard screen, 4gb ram, 256 SSD $2169
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Antiglare High-Resolution display and the 256GB SSD are major upgrades. You would be paying around $600 for the SSD by itself and the display upgrade is a $150 upgrade.

Yeah but Standard means the 1440x900 glossy, I would know.
the only upgrades are the 256GB SSD in the 15.4" and the Core i7 in the 17"
and the 15.4" has a 265MB video card (all the 15" i5's do).

according to the prices here (canada), you save 17.75% on the 15" and 17.19% on the 17".

BTW 240GB Vertex 2's are around $666, and they're better then the Apple OEM.

I don't see the point in spending 35% of the cost of the whole computer in the SSD... is performance worth that much money to you?

why not buy the 17" and use a Rotational Drive, or buy a 60GB SSD. In my opinion: given the rate at which the prices of SSD's will fall; the resale value of the 17" will be much higher in a year or two.

Anybody thought about doing an iMac iPad combo instead of a MacBook pro? I have an iPad already so just a thought. Wish I could afford them all.

I REALLY like how the 27" iMac can be used solely as a display, and it has a magsafe adapter to power your mac.

it's like the LED cinema display with a computer built in...
although its almost 2x the cost.

Yeah. I'm on my iPad right now and love it. It's perfect for surfing and casual internets. I really like the 27 iMac its just so massive for my home. Any recommendations on a 21.5 build?
