Does anyone have any recommendations for a Safari for Mac ad blocker that I can keep off by default, but only block ads on a small handful of sites I select?

I'm not interested in blocking ads on every site I visit, just the ones that particularly obnoxious with their advertising.

Don't know about "Best" but I use AdBlock Plus with Safari, and it is doing its job.

In this case any ad blocker would do the trick as you plan to enter a few sites manually / permit the rest. For me uBlocker with Safari has been solid as well.
