Best Sandbox Games?

So I'm basically looking for a free-roam sandbox type game on the iPad where you can just build things. I LOVE Minecraft, but only on my Mac. I hate it on the iPad, it just seems really watered down and poorly designed. Any ideas?

Yea, I'm not a fan of the overhead look though.

You mean top-down or 3rd person? Because good ol' GTA 3 is available, if you don't like the 'Chinatown Wars' one.

But sorry - yes not the genre you're looking for. Minecraft is pretty unique really, happy to know of any others though!

Junk Jack is now universal. It is the equivalent of minecraft for ios.

Last week ive read that Windows Phone (yeah, i cannot belive somebody is doing soft for those) has really really good minecraft clone on it, better even than minecraft on pc. But ive only wrote this to say that we need either to wait for minecraft pe becoming more mature, or wait for this WP7 clone to be ported for ipads.

I'm not really into sandbox games..but some friends are.
I can suggest Blockland (this one is free) and Wurm Online.
Similar to Minecraft is also Minetest-c55 (that one is very popular btw my friends!

it is really fun it is 99 cents in the app store right now but it is like minecraft but you get unlimited blocks and you can do whatever you want in it it is fun hope this helped
