Just trying to find the best screenwriting software for Mac. Preferably free.
What do you use? What do you like about it? Does it use MSWord? Thanks a lot for your responses!

As much as Quark/Photoshop/InDesign is staplemate to Graphic Designers.

Final Draft is to scriptwriting... Final Draft also comes with the PC & MAC versions on one disc..

Final Draft is the industry standard. I've used it on the PC since version 3 (on a bunch of floppies :) ). FWIW, I have the FD 6 on my iBook and it's way better than when I had the FD 6 on my XP PC... some minor bugs... but I know some who bought FD 7 and regretted it, and went back to 6. YMMV. FWIW, you can go on Amazon and read the reviews. Also, look around, there are ways (legal) of buying it for less than the outrageous list price.

Final draft

I work in the film industry and I have to say that both Final Draft and Movie Magic screenwriter are the 2 standards. Although I recomend that when ever you send a script by email send it in .pdf, having a industry standard helps work flow amongst professionals. I.e - Both final draft and movie magic screenwriter are compatible to work with Movie Magic Scheduling.

Whatever program you go for (final draft 6 is what i use, not being very expensive) all I can say is FORGET about Word. If you want to use a non expensive text processor what I do recomend is Pages '06: it comes with an excellent script templet.
Have fun writting stories.
