Best set up for an Xbox 360?

I'm calling the cops
Well, I want to get a 5.1 surround sound system to go with my Xbox 360(When I get it) and I also want to get a 2405fpw to hook it up to. Where can I get a good but affordable speaker system? And a good deal on the 24 inch dell. Also, another question, where can I still get an Xbox 360? I dont want to pay 2,000$ on one. Do I just call up walmart and see when they get thier next order? Does RadioShack sell them? Sorry bout that.

I've saved up and I make $100 a week. Do they sell them at RadioShack? I mean, Walmart HAS to get another shipment before christmas.
 
they probably will, but dont expect it to be any bigger than their last. my manager friend said that the gamestop near my house is only gonna be gettin 18 a week for a while

It was in reference to the current market value of the console... not what MS is willing to sell it for. Good luck getting one for the MSRP.
 
Well... don't get me started on M$. Firstly... anyone who buys a "new" gaming system (in particular the 360 is an idiot). It would be like anyone here buying a "rev A" apple system when it first came out. Why pay a bloated price on an unproven system when you don't even know what the other systems will do. M$ is taking a page right out of Sony's handbook in releasing their system before the competition. All the reviews are saying that the xbox is the one to beat... but I'm guessing the the PS3 in actually the one that is still the top contender. Don't get me wrong... I have an xbox (as much as I hate M$) but when you have the PS2 which is by far the most popular gaming system in the world and all of their titles as backwards compatible (unlike the 360), how is the 360 going to take over the market? Especially with the reviews that have been coming in about the 360 since its debute.
Analyists say that the xbox is going to be so much cheaper by the time that the PS3 comes out that it will take out the competition, but look at what the competition is... I'm finding that highly unlikely at the moment. PS3 is going to be far superior then that of the 360. The only thing that will be an issue will be the online gaming and I'm sure that sony will come out with a solution to this, so that shouldn't be an issue down the road. I know that I'm a pessemist, but look at the previews of the 360 and the PS3 at E3. The PS3 looked way superior over the 360 in every single application. Now realise that all of the games released get better exponentially over time and you have a clear winner with the PS3.
As much as I like Halo... I'll wait for the 3rd revision for the mac and play it here. I don't need to pay an ton of money on a system that isn't worth it. (especially when all apple users should be boycotting Microvirus anyway).
Well... I think that I've said enough to get flamed, even though that wasn't my intention, but give this about 6 months and see what the verdict is...
 
Hmmm, MS should lower their prices to down to what the original XBoxs are to force Sony to match their price, making Sony lose out on the initial high paying rush. But knowing MS they would rather have high profits.

Yeah, if I were you, I would wait till the price dropped.

I brought a Rev A iMac G5, and I am still really happy with it after nearly a year. So I don't know what you are talking about. I haven't had a single problem with mine.

If you were a salaried single twenty-something, you might be able to justify.. nah, scratch that, not even I would pay 100-200 percent markup on a toy just to have it for the holidays! I'd physically hurt if I threw away $400 just to be the first on the block with a 360.

You'd be smart just to save your pennies until January. As to the 'Rev A' argument, I see no worries.

Honestly - the best set up anywhere would be at my house. :p

55inch High def and 700Watt surround system... I'd be glad to help you out with this set up!:rolleyes:

Seriously, in a few weeks they will be sitting on shelves everywhere. Be patient and do not pay an extra $200-$500+ buying one on eBay - no return in the event you get a bad one (remember the 10% failure rate of Xbox One's DVD drive - I went through three in 2 years) and that is just plain silly... however if I were filthy stinking rich.... I'd buy two on eBay and put one in my bathroom!

I mean common, it is a plastic box - this is not like a Tickle Me Elmo Doll or something worth 100% tax on the MSRP to get it a few weeks early IMHO.

Patients is a virtue - practice it.:)
 
MS plans to sell 3 million 360's in 90 days. Trust me, there will be several more shipments before Christmas. Many of the big retailers, i.e. Best Buy, Futureshop, Walmart, etc., are planning on getting weekly shipments (with the next rumoured to be this Friday). So just relax and you'll get one eventually. And whatever you do, don't waste your money on those eBay auctions.

Thanks that really brought up my hopes. Should I call the local Walmart and ask when they et their next shipment in? Also, does RadioShack sell them? Man, this is gonna be sweet.

Or if your smart you would have pre-ordered 2. 1 to keep and 1 to sell on ebay for twice the price and hence get your first for free ;)
 
just wait until after x-mas to buy 1 reasons beacause

1: some rich kids are gonna get 2 and not want one and sell it

2: smart people are gonna realize that the 1st rev of any product usually sucks, so they'll sell it

3: After x-mas u'll have x-mas money (wow)

4: the price on ebay will be normal or lower by then, just because $900 + wont last long, and the coolness of this Micro$oft POS will wear off

5: Maby this list has now convinced someone to wait (if it changed your mind PM me and tell me)

This is the system I have at home, It has an L and R input in the back, plus a sub input. Can it do 5.1 for the Xbox 360?
It says Dolby Surround Pro-Logic on the front. I have it connect to my computer(PowerMac G5) right now, but it only outputs 2.0 I think. It' a P73 Mini Hi-Fi System built in Sep. 2000.

Sorry about the triple post but would a 2405fpw really be the best monitor for the price? Because there is always the 30 inch dell that goes for 1000-1500. Yet it's 1280 by 720. But since I hear that 720p looks way better than 1080i i guess it would be ok. I will also be having this hooked up to my PM.
