I recently spilled water on my early 2015 13" MacBook Pro and now it needs a new battery as well as a screen connector cable, which I am assuming is the one called "LVDS cable". I am traveling home very soon and I would like to buy the replacements parts here and then have them installed there, however, I don't know where I can buy the parts with fast delivery and reasonable prices in the UK?

These are the parts I need:

1) Battery: Would it be fine if I bought an aftermarket battery from Amazon? I cannot seem to find any with reviews on there so I am worried.

2) LVDS hinge/cable for the screen.

I already bought a newer MacBook but I would like to fix this one since it's already in a great condition and it only needs these two parts, however, I would be okay with a decent aftermarket battery rather than an Apple certified one as long as it has good reviews.

I took it to a computer repair shop near me and had them clean and dry it up and diagnose the problems for me. They offered to replace the battery and connector cable for 250 GBP, including the labor, but I didn't know where they would buy their parts and I feared they might buy a cheap battery just for the sake of fixing it.

The laptop works fine when connected to the AC adapter and an HDMI cable, however, the connector between the screen and the logic board need to be replaced in order for the screen to turn on again.

Do you see anything on the internal screen?

Do you see anything if you connect it to an external monitor?

The battery won't charge?

I'm asking these questions because I don't always accept what a tech tells me.

I don't know about the UK but in Canada I've been told that authorized Apple repair shops are not allowed to sell OEM parts without installing them in a customer's machine and providing a warranty for the part replacement service.

No, I do not see anything on the internal screen. When I asked him if he was sure about the connector cable, he powered the laptop on then held the connector in and the screen worked, but it cannot be soldered/plugged back in because it was damaged by the water or one of the pins fell out, something like that.

Yes, everything works well when I connect it to my TV using the HDMI port.

The battery will not charge and I have the "Service Needed" notification.

I totally forgot about eBay, but I was able to find supposedly genuine parts for decent prices and with express delivery. The genuine battery costs around 60 pounds from the looks of it.

I don't trust eBay even if the item is described as being new and genuine. That being said, I'm fine with using third party batteries because two or three third party batteries cost as much as a single battery replacement at the Apple store.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I've been told that authorized Apple dealers in Canada are not allowed to see bare parts without installation.

I believe the situation is the same over here in the UK. When I contacted Apple about this, they said that I would have to make an appointment with the Genius Bar then give them the laptop so they can diagnose and possibly repair it for a cost. However, I do not have much time left here and besides, I am not sure if Apple would actually replace the LVDS cable and connector only or the screen assembly as a whole.

The Apple stores in Canada do not perform board-level repairs, they replace whole assemblies and, in your case, in sure they'll replace the entire screen, case, and cable assembly at great cost.
