Maybe it was a Jambox by Jawbone. They are popular.

maybe the UE mini Boom? Don't know about the surround sound bit though.
Could be the JamBox I guess with the live audio thing.

I'd have to also recommend the jawbone. Pretty solid sound in a compact, wireless package. The smaller (cheaper) of the two versions will more than suffice.
